The two sides exchanged views on opportunities in energy trade, including natural gas and diesel, and expressed their shared aspiration to further deepen cooperation in medical biotechnology and responses to ageing societies. They also shared experiences in democratic governance, including differences in electoral systems and mechanisms for promoting women’s political participation. On cross-strait and regional security issues, Chairperson Cheng reaffirmed her commitment to cross-strait peace. She advocated promoting peaceful dialogue on the basis of the “1992 Consensus” and opposition to Taiwan independence, with the aim of safeguarding regional stability and reducing tensions. 原文:
