Chair Cheng Li-wun met today with Maya Yaron, Representative of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, for a friendly exchange that covered topics related to energy, climate, and technology.
Notably, all participants in today’s meeting were women. Both sides recognized the importance of advancing women’s rights and strengthening women’s participation in public leadership.
During the gift exchange, Representative Yaron used the cactus to symbolize the spirit of Israel: strong on the outside, yet full of resilience and vitality within. This thoughtful reflection added cultural depth to the conversation. She also extended a warm invitation for Chair Cheng and young KMT colleagues to visit the Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center to experience Jewish culture and cuisine, and both sides expressed hope for further interaction in academic exchange and research and development.
