中國國民黨主席鄭麗文會見日台交流協會隅修三會長，雙方就台日長久以來的友好關係、經貿合作、能源政策以及防災應對等議題，進行深入的意見交換。
雙方一致認為，日本與國民黨長年維持密切互動，交流基礎深厚。鄭主席也回顧，自己在擔任立法委員期間，是最早要求政府重視並積極推動台灣加入跨太平洋夥伴協定TPP、後續支持加入跨太平洋夥伴全面進步協定CPTPP的委員之一。這也是國民黨長期堅持的政策方向。
在能源與氣候議題上，雙方進行廣泛討論。隅修三會長指出發展核能勢在必行。在 AI、半導體及資料中心能源需求急速攀升的趨勢下，台灣與日本都必須務實面對能源結構的穩定性。他特別以TSMC與AI數據中心的高耗能需求為例，強調未來電力需求將持續增加，因此穩定的電力供給至關重要。
在防災領域方面，隅會長高度肯定台灣在災害應變與整體防災能力上的表現，並表示日本盼與台灣持續互相學習、深化合作、分享經驗。
鄭主席表示，國民黨未來將持續推動與日本各界的交流，並在經濟、科技、能源、防災、教育與文化等領域全面深化合作關係。隅會長誠摯歡迎鄭主席訪問日本，鄭主席亦表示感謝。
KMT Chairperson Cheng Li-wun met with Japan–Taiwan Exchange Association President Sumi Shuzo for an in-depth discussion on Taiwan–Japan relations, economic cooperation, energy policy, and disaster-prevention collaboration.
Both sides noted that the KMT and Japan have maintained a long history of close interaction rooted in deep mutual understanding. Chair Cheng recalled that during her tenure as a legislator, she was among the first to urge the government to prioritize and actively pursue accession to the TPP, and later CPTPP, an objective the KMT has consistently supported.
The two also held extensive discussions on energy and climate issues. President Sumi emphasized that expanding nuclear energy is essential. With the rapid rise in electricity demand driven by AI, the semiconductor industry, and large-scale data centers, both Taiwan and Japan must take a pragmatic approach to ensuring the stability of their energy structures. Citing the high electricity needs of TSMC and AI data centers, he stressed that future power demand will only continue to grow, making stable energy supply indispensable.
On disaster-prevention cooperation, President Sumi commended Taiwan’s strong capabilities in disaster response and emergency management. He expressed Japan’s interest in continued mutual learning, deeper collaboration, and the sharing of best practices.
Chair Cheng stated that the KMT will continue advancing exchanges with various sectors in Japan and seeks to further strengthen cooperation in economic affairs, technology, energy, disaster prevention, education, and culture.
President Sumi extended a cordial welcome for Chair Cheng to visit Japan, and Chair Cheng expressed her sincere appreciation.
